Samir Manji is the founder and CEO of Sandpiper.
Samir was formerly the Chairman and Founder of Amica Mature Lifestyles Inc., until the sale of the company to Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan in December 2015.
Samir’s real estate career began in 1993, shortly after completing his Chartered Accountant designation, when he acquired a financially distressed retirement residence in Burnaby, BC. A rapid expansion strategy ensued and in 1997, Samir took the company public. In 2000, the ‘Amica’ brand was born and under Samir’s direction and leadership, Amica Mature Lifestyles became the premier brand in luxury retirement living in Canada.
Samir is an entrepreneur, a strategist, an advisor and a real estate investor.
Samir is an active member of YPO. He also currently serves as the President of the Ismaili Council for British Columbia.

Renzo Barazzuol is Sandpiper’s President and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the day-to-day management of Sandpiper.
Renzo was most recently Chief Financial Officer for the Aquilini Group. He began there in 2008 as CFO for Aquilini Development and Construction Inc.. His career spans over 30 years, including leadership roles in a variety of industries including real estate, seniors housing, construction, waste energy, farming, entertainment and food and beverage.
Renzo has spearheaded and participated in acquisitions, operations and every financial aspect of both public and private companies.
Renzo earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Navdeep Gill is Sandpiper’s Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the accounting, tax, finance and human resources functions.
Prior to Sandpiper, Ms. Gill was Vice President, Financial Operations at the Tempest Group, a boutique broker dealer and investment fund manager. Her experience spans over a decade where she has held senior positions at Deloitte and OMERS and its related investment entities, including Oxford Properties. Ms. Gill has managed accounting and reporting for several commercial properties and has served clients in the financial services and real estate industries. Ms. Gill has strong institutional experience coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit. She has a robust background in full cycle accounting, compliance, tax and finance. Ms. Gill holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba and is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator. Ms. Gill is a board member of the Central City Foundation and a member of the finance committee at Power To Be.

Corey Colville is responsible for the full cycle of idea generation through to transaction execution and carrying out asset management. Corey brings over 10 years of experience in corporate development, due diligence, analysis and real estate appraisal to Sandpiper Group. Prior to joining Sandpiper, Corey led corporate development at Amica Mature Lifestyles Inc. where he was responsible for new developments, acquisitions, divestures and internal growth opportunities. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University and has completed the Appraisal Institute of Canada and University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business PGCV program.

Alyssa Barry is responsible for strategic communications and investor relations. Alyssa brings over 10 years of capital markets experience to Sandpiper Group, specializing in corporate communications and reporting, corporate governance, and investor relations strategy. Prior to joining Sandpiper, Alyssa oversaw investor relations at Amica Mature Lifestyles Inc. where she developed and executed the company’s IR strategy and played a key role in the sale of Amica to Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan in December 2015. She obtained her Diploma in Public Relations from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Business Leadership and Management Certificate from Vancouver Community College, and Certified Professional in Investor Relations from Ivey Business School. Alyssa is an active member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute.

Ivo Ciurlizza is responsible for evaluating potential investments and acquisitions. Prior to joining Sandpiper, Ivo spent 7 years at Greystone Managed Investments, where he covered the technology, telecommunications, and consumer sectors. He brings a diversified skill set, which is complemented by other roles in investment banking and real estate management/investment. Ivo holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (with honours) from The University of British Columbia and is a CFA Charterholder.

Kevin Leung is responsible for supporting the deal team in evaluating new investment opportunities as well as assisting with asset management and relationship development.
Prior to joining Sandpiper, Kevin spent three years working in the real estate practice at KPMG LLP where he provided financial services to public REITs, national real estate developers, and real estate holding companies. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours degree from the University of British Columbia and is a CPA and CFA candidate.
At Sandpiper, I have the opportunity to create value for our investors while pursuing my passion in real estate. Being a part of a team of exceptional, motivated individuals drives me towards continued growth and development.
Jas Gill is responsible for evaluating investment opportunities as well as assisting with asset management and relationship development. Jas earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University. He was also a member of the school’s student-run investment fund, the Beedie Endowment Asset Management (BEAM) program. Prior to graduation, he completed an internship in Investment Banking at Scotiabank. He is currently pursuing his CFA designation.

Denby Sineath-Sinn is Sandpiper’s Senior Accountant and supports the day-to-day financial operations and reporting, taxation, finance and investor reporting. Denby was most recently Senior Accountant at ASIG where he was responsible for the full accounting cycle and assisted in the transition of the accounting department when it was acquired. Prior to this, he worked at Canadian National Railway, where he was part of revenue management focusing on the supply chain and automotive sector. Denby holds a Bachelor of Commerce from John Molson School of Business at Concordia University, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Trisha Husmillo is Sandpiper’s Corporate Accountant and is responsible for day-to-day accounting, reporting, budgeting and taxation.
Trisha was recently Junior Accountant at Creative Energy where she was responsible for full cycle accounting and assisted senior accountants and the Controller on establishing new processes. Prior to this, she spent two years with FactSet, a financial research firm, where she worked as part of the client solution team maintaining the highest level of quality support for FactSet clients. Trisha holds a Continuing Studies Diploma in Accounting from Langara College and is currently pursuing her CPA designation.

Ramona Seidler is responsible for supporting Sandpiper’s strategic investor relations and communications efforts.
Ramona recently graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Commerce. Prior to her last semester, she spent two years abroad in London, UK and Hong Kong where she completed three co-ops with real estate focused companies, bringing a global outlook to Sandpiper. During her time at university, Ramona focused not only on academics but also on community initiatives. She served as Co-President of Young Women in Business Victoria after overseeing the events operations as Director of Events a year prior. Ramona is ambitious and driven to deliver a superior investor experience.

Vinay Panchal is responsible for managing the trade execution for Sandpiper’s public securities investments and supports Sandpiper’s investor relations efforts.
Vinay brings a unique skillset from his experiences in wealth management and has a passion for delivering first-class service to clients. Through an internship at the Royal Bank of Canada, he was involved in developing asset valuation reports for ultra-high net worth clients. Prior to joining Sandpiper, he was responsible for the business development aspect for one of the largest discretionary-based portfolio management groups at Canaccord Genuity.
He brings a foundation of financial acumen through a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, completion of the Canadian Securities Course and recent enrollment in the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Along with industry experience, Vinay has been involved in several extra-curricular initiatives focused on helping make a positive impact on the broader community.

Tara Cannon is Executive Assistant to Samir Manji and Renzo Barazzuol.
Tara brings to the team over 12 years of experience in coordinating, planning and streamlining the day-to-day functions for high-level executives. Prior to joining Sandpiper, Tara worked at a construction and development firm in Vancouver and has experience in real estate. Her high level of professionalism and administrative experience contribute to her success and abilities in her role.

Jessica has over 10 years of experience in a high-level office being an Assistant to multiple Executives. She streamlines the day-to-day functions for her team seamlessly. Prior to joining Sandpiper, Jessica worked at a construction and development firm in Vancouver and has experience in real estate. Her high level of professionalism, confidentiality and administrative experience help her to succeed in her role.

Joyce Cayas is responsible for coordinating office activities and managing day-to-day operations to increase office efficiency and contribute to the team’s success.
Joyce brings over 13 years of experience in the commercial insurance industry. Prior to joining Sandpiper, she held various roles in commercial insurance, beginning with administrative support roles before working her way up to her most recent position as a property and liability insurance underwriter.
